Why The Slam Crew Was Created:

The Slam Crew — “America’s Premier Show Basketball Team” or “The Exceptional Slam Crew” is a professional exhibition basketball team. We tour communities across the country, putting on high-energy, entertaining, and inspiring basketball shows that leave a lasting impact.

Our Mission:
To use basketball as a platform to inspire, motivate, and empower the next generation. We show youth that greatness already lives within them and that with effort, character, and belief, anything is possible.

Our Vision:
“Through basketball, we ignite passion, build confidence, and put on shows that leave communities inspired and entertained.”

What began in small gyms has grown into a nationwide movement known for Energy. Excitement. Elevation. Wherever The Slam Crew performs, we leave a spark of motivation that lasts long after the final dunk.

The Slam Crew was born from a simple belief — basketball has the power to change lives. For years, we traveled the country bringing energy, excitement, and unforgettable moments to schools and communities. But along the way, we realized we weren’t just putting on shows. We were connecting. We were inspiring. We were giving kids hope.

We saw the spark in their eyes when we encouraged them before a big test. We saw their confidence rise when we reminded them their dreams mattered. And when we returned years later, students would tell us how one moment — one message — shaped who they became.

Long before The Slam Crew existed, our founder taught and coached in inner-city schools, witnessing the pressures young people faced daily. She also saw how deeply they needed consistent encouragement and positive role models to stand in front of them and say:

You are capable.
You are valuable.
You can rise above anything standing in your way.

That’s why The Slam Crew exists — to use basketball as a platform to inspire, motivate, and empower the next generation; to show students that greatness already lives within them; and to remind them that with effort, character, and belief, anything is possible.

Because in the end, this is about far more than basketball — it’s about impact, confidence, and leaving hope behind everywhere we go.

Meet "Slammy" the Slam Crew Kangaroo

Slammy the Slam Crew Kangaroo brings energy, excitement, and heart to the youth. With his big smile, high hops, and spinning basketball tricks, Slammy inspires kids to believe in themselves and have fun. As the official mascot of The Slam Crew, he represents confidence, positivity, and never giving up.

Our Roster

The Slam Crew roster is built for excitement, skill, and show-stopping entertainment. Led by DJ D Mac from San Antonio, our lineup features elite talent across every position—from Derrick “Handles” Jones at point guard to Jeremy “Jerm” Thompson dominating the paint at 7’1”. With high-flying dunkers, master ball handlers, and skilled shooters, our team brings energy, creativity, and unforgettable performances to every court we step onto.
